TUSAIDIANE MINISTRY (A Swahili word that means “let us help one another”)
Exists to provide an inclusive space in the life and work of the church while cultivating supportive, faith building, Christ-exalting relationships of love while helping individuals challenged with sensory or physical disabilities, find the best fit for both growing in their faith and for exercising their spiritual gifts through creative solutions. Ministry Lead – Reverend Angela Pratt Responsibilities: 1. Provide safe space for individuals with disabilities to meet to discuss issues that specifically affect them. 2. Provide a support group for partners of individuals with disabilities. 3. Sponsor an annual disability day in October 4. Convene a drumming circle for fellowship and healing 5. Advocate for a more inclusive worship space and community 6. Provide training and development opportunities for the congregation and community concerning the disability communities. 7. Ensure that all of UFC, Greater Atlanta’s operations, worship experiences and programs are intentionally inclusive of and accessible to the disability community Community Partners – Legacy Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center 8.
